Le Tour de France is at Arreau* today, stopping UPS from working

A short note to inform you that UPS is forced to stop working for our Pyrenean factory today Wednesday 18th July, because…of the Tour.

Indeed one of our plants is located in the town of Arreau, in the Pyrenees.

Why there? Obviously to get closer to the sheeps and the honeybees, but also because we care about the re-industrialization of these dales, which have a high unemployment rate.

Let’s go back to the point: today, the stage is known to be one of the most difficult and strategic one of the entire Tour, in all aspects of cycling. In fact it is 197 km with four Pyrenean passes: The Aubisque, Tourmalet, Col d’Aspin and Peyresourde.

It’s only after the first three hard passes that the cyclists will arrive at Arreau, bathed in sweat. Cycling under the cheering of  our Pyrenean production team, they will have enough energy to climb the last pass and finish the stage successfully.

Km 53.5 – Col d’Aubisque (1 709 m)

Km 120.5 – Col du Tourmalet (2 115 m)

Km 150.5 – Col d’Aspin (1 489 m)

Km 181.5 – Col de Peyresourde (1 569 m)

As supporter we just created the geobling iPhone case of the stage! A nice way to create a souvenir of the day.
