Dutch architect Janjaap Ruijssenaars of Universe Architecture is partnering with Enrico Dini Founder of the D-Shape 3D printer to imagine the biggest 3D printed building.

The shape of the building is inspired by the endless möbius strip.

The two-story building aims to be done in 2014. It will be print out of 6×9 meters blocks of 3D printed frame using the D-Shape 3D printer. Material is a mix of sand and inorganic binder.

Enrico Dini has been experimenting with big concrete 3D printing for a while now. A documentary has been made about his work. With Californian sculptor Bathsheba Grossman, they also build the Rygo, the biggest 3D printed sculpture in North America.

This new project comes as the real-size experiment of the capabilities of 3D printing for architecture. Good luck to the team!
