3D Print Show

Attend Sculpteo’s talks during the next 3D Print Shows in London and Paris

You’ll be in London the 9th of November? Or in Paris between the 14th and 15th? That’s great news. We’ve been invited by the 3D Print Show for a series of talks about 3D printing both in London and Paris.

Alex, our UI / UX Designer, will give a speech called “3D Printing for Dummies” on Saturday the 9th of November in the Cone. It’ll start at 10:00am. The goal behind the talk is to let you learn everything you’ve always wanted to know about 3D Printing but were afraid to ask… We’ve compiled all the top questions that we’ve been asked in the past 4 years – from the simple to the completely unexpected.

Just a week later, the 3D Print Show is moving to Paris. Clement, our CEO, will be giving a talk on Friday during the Business / Industry of the show. It starts at 1:30pm on November the 15th in the Sphere. The aim of the talk is to let anyone understand how to start a business with 3D Printing. What are the possibilities? What are the business models? How to integrate 3D Printing in a business?

On Saturday, Marine, our CMO, will meet you at 2:00pm in the Sphere for our “3D printing for Dummies” talk.

For both events, we’ll be present on a booth to answer all your questions and to show tons of 3D printing objects and art pieces. There will be a little extra on the booth for the Parisian 3D Print Show.

If you want to buy tickets for the show, you can do it here!

We’re thrilled to have this occasion to meet you in London and Paris, and to give three talks in ten days. If you have any question or press inquiry, just shoot us an email: arthur_at_sculpteo_dot_com

Startup Weekend Transmedia San Francisco… Seen by Sculpteo

Sculpteo was part of Startup Weekend Transmedia San Francisco last week-end. Two days and a half of brainstorming, pitches and project development for building a startup project using story-telling.

Sculpteo presented its choice of materials and its 3D printing Cloud engine solution. Teams had to pick available tools in the StartupWeekend Toolbox… and that’s what did one of the winning teams: iSmash SF !

iSmash SF is a board game where you play as a giant monster rampaging through San Francisco. The goal: destroy your favorite neighborhoods! What would you think if you could customize your own monsters and have them 3D printed? That’s what the iSmash team proposed… and they won 2 awards including audience choice.

The Marshmallow Project was also one of our favourite. Libby Falck is a designer who organizes workshops for kids (age 8-10) to teach them design thinking using 3D modeling and 3D printing. With her team, she has been running 8 workshops in the last 3 months. And this is just the beginning.

Take a look at the kids’ reaction when they discover 3D printing:

During the weekend, we created the story that could motivate kids to solve problems using simple modeling tools such as Tinkercad or Autodesk 123D and print their prototypes using home printers such as Cube. By sharing the models online with other kids around the world, the workshops enable cultural exchange and collaboration. At Sculpteo, we were very happy to support this beautiful project.

Sculpteo Partners with Startup Weekend Transmedia Happening on February 1st-3rd 2013 in San Francisco, CA.

Sculpteo is part of the Startup Weekend Transmedia happening on February 1st to 3rd 2013 in San Francisco ! 54 hours to build rich, immersive and interactive stories illustrating the topic “The City”.

For a full week-end, teams gathering programmers, media producers, designers, developers and marketers will work together to create immersive transmedia experiences.

The idea behind “transmedia”: building cross-platforms experiences. It can be for example a TV show that lets you interact with the characters through their blogs or in real life. A game that you download on your tablet but implies that you actually go discover your city. A neighborhood project that lets you connect through online local documentaries and apps…

Transmedia is a very exciting way to create lively experiences using media. How can you use 3D printing as a media producer or an advertiser ? This will be a question to answer this week-end. 3D printing creates real products from 3D ideas. It brings virtual models to physical life… 3D printing is transmedia !

We are proud to be part of this first edition that will be held in Parisoma on February 1st to 3rd. We got a few discounted tickets, drop us an email if you’re interested… and see you on Friday ! RSVP on the Eventbrite page of the event.
